Verndale Launches Mobile, Visually Enhanced Website for Citi Performing Arts Center

Boston MA – Verndale, a leading Experience Technology Company, is proud to announce the launch of Citi Performing Arts Center’s (Citi Center) new website. Citi Center, which includes the Wang, Shubert and Emerson Colonial Theatres, is one of the nation’s foremost not-for-profit performing arts institutions. With an outdated content management system in place, Citi Center recognized the need for a more efficient way to update and maintain site content and needed a partner to help them develop a strategy for their digital life, along with a state-of-the-art website to showcase and market upcoming events quickly and effectively.

Citi Center selected Verndale to help them build a strong, long-lasting technical platform to support the proper strategy, architecture and responsive design elements of their new, modern website, and help them develop a digital strategy to enable them to compete with the other not-for-profit organizations in the greater Boston theater and event venue space.

Through the discovery process, Verndale selected Sitecore’s Experience Platform. This provides Citi Center with a robust customer experience management (CXM) platform and features, including Sitecore’s Digital Marketing System (DMS). With the site built DMS ready, Citi Center is able to track and store user behaviors within the CXM, then leverage that data in the future to provide personalized content and experiences to visitors as they return. With Sitecore implemented, Verndale built a system and interface that’s flexible enough to incorporate any future organizational changes.

Verndale developed Citi Center’s website using a mobile-first design, based on the discovery that most users access the site on their smartphones to get information and to purchase tickets. The design features an elegant layout that highlighted various shows without an overly cluttered look. Verndale also integrated Citi Center’s institutional development database to allow them to enable more frequent outreach through email campaigns, newsletters and loyalty club offerings.

The upgrade also compliments Citi Center’s social media strategy by integrating the site with their social accounts, setting the foundation for future interactive development including in-show interaction and media sharing. The Verndale team used an agile design and build process to meet an aggressive six-month implementation timeline for the site, which Verndale Managed Services supports through an MS Azure platform.
